The Positive Pit Bull is a 501(c)3 dedicated to repairing the reputation of the American Pit Bull Terrier, rehabilitating ones who are in need and keeping as many as possible out of the shelters through education, positive training and socialization.
Our efforts include education and advocacy for the pit bull breeds, and we work on keeping as many as possible out of the shelters through education, positive training and socialization.
Responsible ownership is the cornerstone of our efforts and we reach out to communities to help owners become more responsible in owning these dogs.
We promote pit bulls as family members, as deserving members of society that add joy and value to people’s lives (example: therapy dogs), and as the happy-go-lucky, fun-loving, clown-like nature that is the highlight of the true pit bull personality.
The Positive Pit Bull works hard to decrease the euthanasia rate of pit bulls in North Carolina by changing the perception the public has about the bully breeds. We do this through free educational events designed to help the general public gain an understanding of bully breeds, performing therapy work with our therapy pit bulls – leaving a positive impression of the breeds wherever we go, providing free community training and socialization for pit bulls so they have the best chance for remaining in their homes, and providing training so that more of our communities pit bulls will receive their CGC. We usually invite some of our community’s shelter pit bulls to our events to help get them more exposure and find their forever homes! We believe pit bulls ROCK, and we work to help people become more responsible owners so that the breeds will succeed. We want pit bulls to become known once again as “America’s Dog”.
We are located in Raleigh, NC.
